CEOs of Korea's leading electronics giants are dedicated to making more investment. They were unanimous in reiterating the importance of investment when they met at the Korea Electronics Grand Fair 2009, which opened at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on Oct. 13.

The Next Generation Computing Technology Show 2009 presented state-of-art Korean IT Technology under the theme "IT RE*connect." Featured technologies of human computing, cloud computing, and green computing demonstrated a fantastic performance with harmony among humanity, technology, and nature. This will provide a new message for future generations.

Fabric Display Technology

Director of the Southeast Asia branch of EPROCENT Technology, Aloysius How, shone on the show floor because he was happy to find the perfect product that has high potential to hit the big time in  Malaysia and Singapore. "Precision Dispensing Technology is quite famous at the moment in Malaysia, and I ran into this company called Ban Seok Precision that showed me highly competitive products that are marketable back in my country," How said.

In Samsung Networks's booth, a man is talking with woman on the screen, far away. What they use is a web-based distance communications system called Wyzmeeting Web Conferencing Service, developed by Samsung Networks Inc.

Since the establishment of the company in 1991, Dongwoo Fine-Chem has pioneered the TFT-LCD material industry in Korea. While the domestic market mostly depended on foreign companies, Dongwoo Fine-Chem was the first Korean company to develop high-purity processing chemicals which are required in producing semiconductors and TFT-LCDs.

The 9th International Meeting on Information Display (IMID 2009) organized by the Korea Display Industry Association (KDIA) gave prizes on Oct. 13 to 11 scientists and corporate staffers for inspiring the desire to develop new display technologies and contributing to the development of the display industry.

The extreme concentration of technology experts at KINTEX has been baffling to even the most organized media teams. With every single one of Korea's strong IT industries represented in full at one time, it can be difficult to find one single figure to focus on for any length of time. However, this editor plunged into the depths of the event, searching for the men and women who could give it meaning, and explain the important parts of the whole. Three main voices were encountered during the expedition, and three parts of the whole were highlighted.

ETRI's Wearable Computing research team was showcasing its smart safety wear which can prevent poisoning from gas and suffocation in a dangerous workshop.  The clothing can also transfer workers' medical signals to an emergency service center in an emergency.

LG Electronics was displaying its Borderless TV at their main booth.  The Borderless TV has is only 60% as thick as other models.  This is the thinnest TV currently in production. Its magic motion remote-control system makes its user interface easy to control like a Nintendo Wii. It makes TV watching more enjoyable.
