Motion-based Interactive Display with Actual feeling in Space Touch Technology (MIDAS)

The MIDAS touch is a motion-based non-contact multipoint interaction technology which provides a realistic natural interaction by movement of free hands, fingers, and the full body among multiple users in a 3D space. It can be used for applications that use human movement as input in 3D space.

"Precision Dispensing Technology is quite famous at the moment in Malaysia, and I ran into this company called Ban Seok Precision that showed me highly competitive products that are marketable back in my country," How said.

The Korea Electronics Grand Fair 2009 has such a dense collection of small, medium, and large businesses, packed together in such a colorful conglomeration of booths, that it reminds one of a neon jungle. Two of the largest predators in this profusion of color are Samsung Electronics and LG Display. Both of them had very large lairs in which they lay in wait for unsuspecting victims.

On Oct. 13, the President of Samsung Electronics LCD division, Jang Won-ki, made a keynote speech at IMID 2009 Korea held in KINTEX convention center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.

Jang said "The LCD industry will enter a second phase of its growth trough New LCD. Until now, the LCD market has been replacing old CRT market and that was the first phase of LCD industry. The second phase will replace analog signals with digital signals creating a digital lifestyle with values that consumers have never experienced before. The new concept of the LCD industry will be introduced."

The extreme concentration of technology experts at KINTEX has been baffling to even the most organized media teams. With every single one of Korea's strong IT industries represented in full at one time, it can be difficult to find one single figure to focus on for any length of time. However, this editor plunged into the depths of the event, searching for the men and women who could give it meaning, and explain the important parts of the whole. Three main voices were encountered during the expedition, and three parts of the whole were highlighted.

3M is known as one of the leading firms in the Electronic Components and Devices industries.  Under the name of Vikuiti, it is showing off the company's expertise in energy savings with the Dual Brightness Enhancement Film (DBEF) for LCD-TVs. Most of their technologies are compiled into Vikuit's DBEF that actually differentiate from other LCD TV products in terms of energy savings.

LG Electronics was displaying its Borderless TV at their main booth.  The Borderless TV has is only 60% as thick as other models.  This is the thinnest TV currently in production. Its magic motion remote-control system makes its user interface easy to control like a Nintendo Wii. It makes TV watching more enjoyable.
