Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (GSMB) held the '2010 G-Trade Global Export Fair' at Suwon IBIS Ambassador Hotel on March 5. The event was scheduled the day after 'Buy Korea 2010' as a continuous effort to bring more potential global buyers to Gyeonggi Province. Ninety companies from 23 different countries were invited to have meetings with approximately 400 small and medium size companies in the Province. Gyeonggi Province's major products include IT/Electronics, LED, security, auto parts, medical equipment/BT, machinery, and construction.

Monday, November 30th, was the 46th Trade Day in Korea. The Trade Day event was held as a celebration for reaching 9th place in total exports in the world for the first time. For this remarkable celebration, Lee Myung-bak, president of South Korea; Choi Kyung-hwan, Minister of Knowledge Economy; and more than 1,000 representatives and workers of trade enterprises and the government participated. It is noticeable to see a country to be included among the world's top ten, even at a time when global economic crisis has significantly deteriorated exports.

The 35th national quality management contest was held at COEX in Seoul on Nov. 25 with the attendance of some 1,700 government officials, businessmen, workers and other guests.

The annual event, sponsored by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and managed by the Korean Standards Association (KSA), is designed to spread quality management activities to all industries by presenting national quality awards to excellent companies and businessmen that greatly contributed to improving the quality of goods and services, a KSA spokesman said.
