GM Korea said it will appoint Yoon Myung-ok, GM's director of public relations for its overseas operations, as the chief public relations officer of GM's Korean operations as of Oct. 1.
According to GM Korea on Sept. 11, Yoon, the new executive director, will be a member of GM's global communication leadership and will be in charge of communication at GM Korea, GM Technical Center Korea and other Korean businesses.
Yoon is said to have displayed outstanding performance and capabilities in all areas of public relations such as marketing communication, in-house communication, regional and global communication, and CSR.
Yoon graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in political diplomacy. Before entering GM, she covered the public relations business of GE Healthcare and served as a PR expert in various areas over the past 23 years from 1997.
Meanwhile, Vice President Hwang Ji-na, who has led the existing public relations division, will retire as of Sept. 30.
Since joining GM in 2012, Hwang has been in charge of public relations in Korea as a member of GM's global communication leadership for the past nine years, and has successfully carried out important projects at GM's Korean operations.
In addition, Vice President Hwang has also served as chairman of Women in Innovation (WIN), a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, since 2017, contributing to enhancing the company's international reputation.
