The Android market has grown rapidly, and Apple's iOS is at stake to be stolen in the popularity contest. According to the latest review of the mobile market for the second quarter of the year 2010, Android has emerged as the third position in the smartphone OS market, overtaking Apple's iOS. It is because of the powerful devices in the smart phone market that have mounted the popularity of the Android OS system.
When it first came out, Android's OS based devices didn't attract users that much. However, in the second quarter of 2010, the sales of Android OS smartphones totaled 61.63 million, which was a 50.5 percent increase from the same period last year.
Even if Android OS beated Apple's iOS, Symbia stood at the first position having 41.2 percent of the market shares worldwide. Next was Research In Motion with an 18.2 percent share, followed by Android with 17.2 percent and Apple's iOS at 14.2 percent.
