[New York] Today, PlasmaPay, a global, digital payment platform enabling seamless entry into DeFi, has added support for 34 new DeFi tokens now available on its DeFi dashboard, and portfolio management service, Plasma. The most recent tokens added include Kava (KAVA), Dai (DAI), Curve (CRV), Band Protocol (BAND) and Algorand (ALGO).

KOREA IT TIMES interviewed Ilia Maksimenka, CEO of PlasmaPay online, how PlasmaPay is further expanding its DeFi offering, why usability has hamstrung the industry thus far, and what the future holds for DeFi in 2021.

Q: PlasmaPay recently launched a global digital payment platform that enables seamless entry into DeFi. Could you explain more about it?

Plasma. Finance, PlasmaPay’s DeFi dashboard, and portfolio management service, aggregates the most popular DeFi protocols from multiple blockchains to allow our users to manage their entire portfolio from a single simple interface. Novices will uncover our simple and intuitive dashboard design which makes it fun and easy to begin exploring the exciting world of decentralized finance, while more experienced users can harness the full power of our advanced financial tools.

Q: How does the PlasmaPay platform connected by DeFi protocol work?

PlasmaPay enables seamless entry into decentralized finance through aggregating the most popular DeFi protocols together into one open, the intuitive financial platform for both novice and experienced blockchain users alike.

Q: Why there is needed the new Plasma platform, the Finance Dashboard DeFi solution?

While PlasmaPay acts as a digital payment platform and banking solution, the Plasma. The finance dashboard gives users access to the most popular protocols in DeFi by putting everything together on one interface.

We envision our dashboard as a Portfolio management tool and see a real need on the market for an easy to use an interface that we created. The portfolio management tool displays the statistics of DeFi portfolio profitability, token balances on wallets, strategies and transaction history. The basis of the page is the functionality of Lego portfolio constructor that will allow you to make aggregated transactions using dozens of protocols: instantly exchange all your assets on the wallet for another asset, automatically close all strategies, take profit from all strategies, move all assets from one strategy to another, migrate liquidity from one protocol in the other and manage the repayment of all your loans and borrows.

Q: It seems that Plasma was built with both crypto beginners and traders in mind. Why has the suitability for use been hamstrung to the industry so far?

Despite the DeFi sector’s incredible promises, the level of complexity for users is still a major barrier to mass adoption which is arguably due to technological differences between centralized and decentralized services. With institutional players now weighing in, it is no longer acceptable for anyone to promote an “incredible tool for inclusion” while no work is being done on the usability front.

Q: Do you have any advice for Korean cryptocurrency users or ideas for related business cooperation?

Having recently listed PlasmaPay’s token $PPAY on Bithumb Global, South Korea’s best-known exchange, Korea is a market of huge importance to us aligning with our goal of bringing DeFi to the masses. For, anyone interested in business cooperation, For anyone interested in business cooperation please get in touch at hi@plasmapay.com.

Q: What do you predict about the key trend for the future of DeFi in 2021?

Cross-chain technology will most likely be one of the bigger trends of 2021, as DeFi and the wider blockchain community seek ways to alleviate the scaling issues Ethereum encountered in 2020. As a sector of innovation and renewal, blockchain cannot allow itself to be throttled in perpetuity by the limitations of one chain. Expect to see far greater interoperability next year.

Q: Can you share the most memorable experience in your field?

PlasmaPay recently completed our Token Generation Event on December 10th, which was a marquee moment for us. You can now trade $PPAY on Uniswap and Bithumb Global, and of course, you can use your $PPAY for multiple use cases including utility, rewards, staking, and governance.

Q: What is your next plan for your goal?

Since day one, the goal for PlasmaPay has been to bring DeFi to the masses. There are of course many steps along the path to reaching that destination. One of the main things we intend to roll out in 2021 is our HyperLoop bridge protocol which will allow us to control locked assets across multiple chains. This will mean that PlasmaPay can play its part in alleviating DeFi’s scaling issues.
