Hyundai Motor unveiled the internal teaser image and major indoor specifications for its first exclusive electric vehicle, "Ioniq 5," on Feb. 15.
The Ioniq 5 is the first vehicle that is applied to Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicle platform called E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and maximized indoor space utilization through optimized space design.
The theme of Living Space for all passengers is added, and it has a differentiated internal design for exclusive electric vehicles.
Hyundai Motor has increased interior moving convenience by applying Flat Floor that removed internal tunnel part, Universal Island, a console that can move back and forth, Slimmed Cockpit and Electronic Transmission Lever (SBW) to the Ioniq 5.
In addition, the first row driver's seat and passenger's relaxation comfort seat, which includes leg support, reduces the fatigue of passengers by adjusting the back and cushion angle, allowing them to rest comfortably during parking and stopping.
Ionic 5 emphasized the sustainability of mobility by applying a large number of eco-friendly materials and eco-friendly construction methods.
The Ioniq 5 used a piece of leather seats and fabric made by grinding and machining recycled transparent plastic bottles on door armrests, and bio-materials extracted from sugarcane on doors and dashboards, ceilings and floors.
In addition, the sheet leather dyeing process was applied with vegetable oil extracted from flax seeds, and bio paint using rape flowers and vegetable oil extracted from corn was used for the steering wheel and switch, showing eco-friendly mobility.
Hyundai Motor plans to build an image of eco-friendly brands by continuously expanding eco-friendly materials and construction methods to upcoming Ioniq models.
"The Ioniq 5, which increases the utilization of indoor space and applies sustainable eco-friendly materials and construction methods, will give customers a new experience in electric vehicles. Please pay more attention to the Ioniq 5, which will open a new era of electric vehicles." said an official of Hyundai Motor.
Meanwhile, the Ioniq 5 will make its first appearance online on February 23 (4 p.m. Korean time) through the world's first public event.
