Public Green Market will be double by 2013. Public Procurement Service announced that it will cooperate with Green Growth Korea and Ministry of Strategy and Finance to pursue each sectoral projects by delivering the Expansion of Public Green Market, which provides incentives on various government purchasing of green technology products.
Following two major aims will be promoted, the reduction of challenges 새 enter public market and the construction of infrastructure to extend public demand. By doing so, it plans to enlarge the scale of public green market to be double within three years.
In order to lower the barrier to enter public green market, the market of the certificated green technology products will be opened and make the market easy to enter by designating excellent products or assessment in the evaluation.
In addition, it will lessen the options for newly made products, performance of products and competitiveness on the certificated green technology products. Also it will reflect several conditions such as the certification of renewable energy facilities, green certification, products of the first energy efficiency on the evaluation of purchasing products.
The infrastructure will be constructed to extend the public demand on green products. By reestablishing related systems and existing infrastructures, consumer will easily find information on purchasing green products.
First of all, it will suggest the guidelines for writing tips on the standards of green technology and purchasing tips for green products. The second is to establish an integrated network for public green purchases. Also, three others goals such as restructuring of green purchasing statistic system, the installment of green quality evaluation and carbon cash-back system, will be pursued.
For this project, PPS is looking forward extending the public green market to 6trillion won by 2013 from 3 trillion as of 2010. In order to achieve this goal, PPS will restructure into the system of green procurement from public procurement system by promoting and encouraging green technology products and companies.
