The European Chamber of Commerce (ECCK) in Korea announced on Feb. 23 that it has decided to reappoint Dirk Lukat, CEO of Schenker Korea, as the fifth chairman through the 2021 regular general meeting.
Kim Dong-hee, CEO of Philips Korea, and Fredrik Johansson, CEO of IKEA Korea, were elected as new members of the board.
The new board of directors will represent ECCK for the next two years and oversee the activities of the award.
ECCK explained that it is a representative organization of European and multinational companies, and is trying to form a board of directors considering gender and nationality with experienced global experts in each industry.
"I will continue to do our best to help ECCK members tide over difficult times with the new board of directors," said Chairman Dirk Lukat. "We will make efforts to improve the domestic business environment through cooperation with Korean and European authorities."
Established in 2012, ECCK is a non-profit organization established for the development of trade, commercial and industrial relations between Europe and South Korea.
Currently, it has 360 European and domestic companies as its member companies and represents about 50,000 European businessmen.
