Through the promotion of OLED TV, they say it is the best TV to watch movies through 'Raya and the Last Dragon'
LG Display and Walt Disney, the world's largest entertainment company, have started to promote excellence in OLED TVs.
The two companies announced on March 7 that they will hold a joint promotion on the quality of OLED TVs and eye health excellence for Walt Disney fans around the world in time for the release of the new animation film "Raya and the Last Dragon."
The two companies separately produced and released OLED TV promotion videos using major scenes of 'Raya and the Last Dragon' on YouTube.
It is a 30-second video that emphasizes that OLED TVs are the most comfortable TV for the eyes because they have fewer blue lights that are harmful to the eyes and there is no flicker phenomenon.
As the film will be released simultaneously on the offline theaters and online streaming service "Disney Plus" for the first time at Walt Disney, the move is aimed at informing that OLED is the best TV to watch the movie.
Walt Disney also hosted a section on an OLED TV, including drawing characters during the opening ceremony of "Raya and the Last Dragon," which was broadcast online on March 4 local time in the U.S.
"Eye health is really important when watching content," said Lisa Cabello, marketing manager at Walt Disney Studios. "OLED TV gives the whole family the best viewing experience and shows the exact color the producer intended."
Earlier in January, Ben Havey, an executive in charge of technology innovation at Walt Disney Studios, who appeared on video at LG Display's CES 2021 virtual exhibition hall, also said, "OLED TV allows producers to enjoy the content they intended most accurately."
This joint promotion is part of the 'Eye Love OLED' campaign that has been underway since last year's strategic partnership with 'Disney StudioLAB' for OLED technology collaboration.
LG Display's OLED TV panel is internationally recognized as an eye-friendly display by obtaining 'low blue light' verification and 'flicker free' certification from global certification institutions TUV Rheinland and UL, respectively, and lowering its blue light emission to the lowest level in the industry.
"We will continue to promote the excellence of OLED through cooperation with Walt Disney, which makes world-renowned content," said Oh Chang-ho, vice president of LG Display's TV business department.
