With the success of iPhone 4, Apple is looking to improve on their latest successful product. Apple's newest product will be the iPhone 5, but the release date remains unclear. However, it has been reported that it will be capable of functioning in both 3G and 4G networks. An industry analyst has stated that Apple will switch suppliers of a critical silicon element for their new iPhone. Another report was released Monday, which indicated Apple's iPhone 5 will be their first phone to support LTE, or Long Term Evolution, which is being marketed as 4G technology. It is also expected that Qualcomm will be the chip supplier for the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 will also likely use a two-chip modem, allowing the company to create both 3G and 4G products. Currently, the iPhone uses a 3G chip from Infineon.
