LG Display announced on May 25 that it won the People's Choice Awards in two categories at the Society for Information Display (SID) 2021 held from May 17 to 21.
SID is the world's largest display event where global display-related companies and academia gather together to display new technologies and products and publish research papers, and it was held online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the SID exhibition, visitors vote directly to select and award four categories: Best New Display Component, Best New Display Technology, Best Technology Demonstration, and Most Interactive Booth.
LG Display won the Best New Display Component Award for "83-inch Next Generation OLED TV Panel" and the Best New Display Component Award for "P-OLED panels for super-large vehicles made by connecting four displays in a T-shape form into one."
"83-inch Next Generation OLED TV Panel", which won the Best Technology Demonstration Award, maximizes contrast and color expression by improving luminous efficiency by 20%, and expresses clearer images and realistic quality.
"P-OLED panels for super-large vehicles made by connecting four displays in a T-shape form into one" have excellent picture quality and can be easily bent or bent. This product, which maximizes the advantages of P-OLED, was evaluated as the most advanced technology among automotive displays and won the Best New Display Component Award.
Meanwhile, LG Display's "65-inch Rollable OLED TV" was also named the Display of the Year, the highest honor award given by SID 2021.
"I am happy that LG Display's advanced technology, which has been creating innovative and differentiated values with OLED, has been recognized globally," said Yoon Soo-young, executive director of CTO of LG Display. "We will continue to be a leading global display technology business through continuous research and development."
