Shinhan Bank will expand and implement the "Thomson Reuters Corporation" Anti-Money Laundry (AML) and economic sanctions compliance education program to improve employee understanding of AML.
Thomson Reuters Corporation is a global solution provider that provides compliance training programs to more than 800 financial institutions and companies around the world, reflecting the latest legal and regulatory trends in each country. Internationally, brand awareness is high in compliance education.
In particular, Shinhan Bank's first AML and economic sanctions compliance training program introduced in 2019 are representative AML education programs used in 110 countries.
Until last year, Shinhan Bank had been providing training to employees of related departments located at its headquarters, reserved sojourning employee and overseas stores including AML departments.
Starting this year, it will provide training to the entire headquarters department and 2,500 employees of corporate stores who are likely to perform related tasks in line with the recently increased level of regulation by domestic and foreign financial regulators and demands for stronger education.
"In the case of AML and economic sanctions compliance, the level of understanding of employees is the most important, so Jin Ok-dong, the president of Shinhan Bank, asked the employees to actively participate," said Shinhan Bank official. "The bank will strengthen support to foster AML professionals and try to become a reliable and safe bank."
