Pearl Abyss has invested $3 million in Hyperreal, a North American metaverse entertainment company.
Hyperreal is the creator of "HyperModel", a surreal digital avatar based on a celebrity with A-level recognition.
HyperModel, produced based on celebrities with A-level recognition, can be used and recycled in various media such as movies, music videos, and advertisements with one scan of a person.
Avatar technology was used in the recent music video "Find My Way," featuring Paul McCartney as a young man, and Madison Beer's virtual concert in collaboration with Sony.
Local media and industry evaluated that it was so realistic that it was difficult to distinguish it from a real person.
"Hyperreal is a leader in virtual avatarization of real people and a company that has proven its industry-leading expertise," said Kim Kyung-yeop, Head of Investment Strategy at Pearl Abyss. "Pearl Abyss will establish a partnership with Hyperreal to promote business collaboration by sharing trends and know-how on the metaverse market in addition to games."
Meanwhile, Hyperreal is concentrating on providing a high level of immersion through the advancement of virtual production technology in the future. It is planning to apply AI technology based on machine learning so that HyperModel can be utilized in various digital platforms.
