Netmarble announced on December 24 that its North American subsidiary, Jam City, has created a blockchain-only department and has unveiled a new blockchain-based mobile game "Champions: Ascension".

This game is a blockchain-based Play to Earn (P2E) game. Gamers can acquire rewards through battles with other players within a user-centered fantasy worldview and own them in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Before the game launch, Jam City will sell 10,000 limited edition NFT champions "Prime Eternals". The collection consists of the highest Ascension tier champions in the game.

By owning the collection, gamers can earn high profits in the game in the future, as well as get various perks that other players cannot use.

“We plan to introduce champions that can appeal to users in a variety of ways. As we have been able to provide reasonable rewards and champion ownership through Web3," said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. "We will continue to make games that go beyond existing technologies through active investment and development.”

“Even if you are not a cryptocurrency expert, you can enjoy the game and provide a fresh experience where users can play the game and make real money,” said Josh Yguado, president and COO of Jam City.

Champions: Ascension is an RPG battle game set in the world of Massina, where peace has been maintained for a thousand years, in which you train, equip, and fight your champions.

The company plans to continuously add various champion ranks in the future, and provide various contents such as weapon crafting using battle loot, and land ownership battles.

Meanwhile, Netmarble's North American subsidiary Jam City is a global mobile game company that developed "Cookie Jam", "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery", and "Disney Emoji Blitz". Last year, it was selected as one of the top 10 US game publishers by App Store and Google Play.
