Hyundai Motor Company's eco-friendly hydrogen electric bus, Electricity FCEV, has started operating on regular Austrian city bus routes.
Hyundai Motor Company announced on February 27 that it had supplied Electricity FCEV to Austrian public transportation company Wiener Linien and started operating buses.
As part of the HyBus Project for the Austrian government-level hydrogen infrastructure expansion and business leadership, Hyundai Motor Company supplied a total of three FCEVs.
Starting with Vienna, these buses will be used sequentially on various regional routes in Austria, such as Graz and Salsburg.
The Electricity FCEV can travel up to 550 km on a single charge by applying a fuel cell system with excellent performance and durability and a hydrogen tank with the highest capacity in its class.
The Electricity FCEV was evaluated to be suitable for the road requirements of Vienna, Austria, with a high vehicle density and short distance between traffic lights due to its long driving range and short charging time.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "Hyundai will continue to make efforts to expand the supply of hydrogen electric buses to various countries in the future."
