Netmarble announced today that its subsidiary Netmarble F&C has signed a strategic partnership with Unity Korea for game content and metaverse platform business.
Through this MOU, the two companies will proceed with the technical cooperation necessary for the realization of the metaverse world.
Metaverse World, which is being developed by Netmarble F&C, is a platform that encompasses games, digital humans, entertainment, contents (webtoons, web novels), and commerce based on blockchain technology.
Netmarble F&C leads the development of Metaverse World, and presents various projects that apply Unity engine and technology.
Unity provides technical support and advice necessary for Metaverse, and is in charge of training for metaverse professionals.
For Metaverse World, Netmarble F&C established Metaverse Entertainment with a 100% equity investment in August last year.
The company signed a partnership with Kakao Entertainment in October for digital human technology and entertainment synergy.
"Metaverse VFX Lab", a facility where Metaverse technology is concentrated, will be completed in the first half of this year.
This research institute is the largest single motion capture facility in Korea, and it is equipped with the latest equipment for metaverse world and digital human production such as motion capture, chroma key, and full body scanning.
