Interest in LG Uplus (LG U+) Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is spreading globally.
LG U+ said that delegations from the Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), Singtel, National University of Singapore (NUS), and Singapore Quantum Engineering Program (QEP) visited the Yongsan office building in Seoul to explore PQC technology and seek cooperation.
PQC, introduced by LG U+ to the delegation, is an encryption technology that can defend against attacks by quantum computers.
LG U+ launched the world's first commercialized PQC dedicated line in April with CryptoLab, a company specializing in encryption technology, and Coweaver, a company specializing in optical transmission equipment, and is spreading the security network throughout industries including the financial sector.
The delegation was a case in which LG U+ demonstrated USIM implemented with PQC dedicated line and Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) technology in various places in the public and private sectors in the quantum cryptography communication pilot infrastructure construction project supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT since 2020.
PQC technology, leased line development, and application services in various fields were also confirmed.
"With the visit of the Singapore Ministry of Information and Communication-Singtel delegation as an opportunity, I realize that the era of quantum computers is approaching," said LG Uplus' Wired Business Manager Koo Guo-cheol. "We look forward to spreading PQC not only in the Asian market but also in the global telecommunication industry.”
