Hyundai-Kia Motors Supplies Cars for G20 Summit

Hyundai-Kia Motors celebrated on Thursday the 28th, at the east square of COEX, located in Samsung-dong, Gangnamgu in Seoul, as they delivered the cars specially employed for the G20 Seoul Summit, and Lee Si-hyung, Head Officer of the G20 Presidential Committee, and Jung Uiseon, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company were present at the ceremony.

The 172 automobiles supplied by Hyunda·Kia Motors for the G20 Summit include the EQUUS limousine, for the summit ceremony as well as for bodyguards, Mohave, Grand  Starex, and Grand Carnival. Jung Monggu, Presdient of Hyundai Motor Company, inspected the cars last week, ensuring that the people in charge provide the utmost quality and service for the event.

At the ceremony, Jung Uiseon, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company expressed that he "is very proud that Hyundai·Kia Motors could provide the automobiles for such a national event," and that "we will focus all our efforts on the management of the cars for a successful G20 summit." Lee Si-hyung responded, "the support from Hyundai·Kia Motors will be of great help for the successful hosting of the event."

"Hyundai·Kia Motors is right to be proud of the fact that the leaders of the G20 member countries are using Hyundai·Kia cars, such renowned Korean brands for an international event such as this," he added.

In addition to supplying the automobiles, Hyundai-Kia Motors will organize 'auto repair supporter teams' as part of their efforts to ensure smooth operation of the cars. Moreover, Hyundai·Kia Motors are aiming to take this event as an opportunity to introduce South Korea's green car technology to the world.

During the G20 Summit, the automobile manufacturer will provide a total of 32 environmentally-friendly cars including 10 BlueOns, 14 Mohave hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles, four electric buses, 3 hydrogen fuel-cell buses, and one Aero Town. Also, the company is actively promoting environmentally-friendly technology of Hyundai·Kia Motors, displaying a demo vehicle of BlueOn, high-speed electric cars manufactured by Hyundai·Kia Motors, at Coex Pyramid Square.
