Seoul, Nov. 30, 2010 - After what happened in Yeonpyeong-do, I highly doubt a nation of 3.5 million IT individuals will sit back and watch our country, filled with compatriots and visitors alike, fall apart allowing for our future generations to sink in mire of gunfire and political chaos.
South Korea will not tolerate another tragic misfortune such as that of the unfortunate Cheonan incident in which the lives of 46 sailors were prematurely taken. A nation of determined citizens and a vigilant government will not permit the nation to be held hostage at the hands of North Korea, therefore, I hereby declare that we, the citizens, at least the community dedicated to the efforts and advancement of IT, shall not condone such senseless brutality. A citizens' role in their respective community is to support the soldiers who protect their nation and individual safety although enduring the possibility of danger and harm in the battlefield. IT experts should provide their utmost support to the South Korean government via various telecommunication, media and cyber mediums for the accurate and supportive dispersal of information.
Therefore, all members of IPAK, whose affiliates include global IT expert Alvin Toffler, declare the following:
Firstly, in the case of another attack, IPAK shall respond immediately with actions much stronger than what they deliver.
Second, IPAK shall raise funds for the reconstruction of Yeonpyeon-do and for the improvement of our weaponry.
Third, IPAK shall prepare for a national crisis by organizing and implementing a cyber army.
Lastly, IPAK shall disseminate our thoughts regarding the situation at hand to international and domestic leaders.
