Buy Korea 2011

Today, January 11, the "Buy Korea 2011" event at the Kintex, Ilsan began. It consists of approximately 85% of global buyers and 15% of global sellers in total. This event shows that Korea and the world are harmonizing and advancing together with both importing and exporting of goods. There were many booths filled with companies from different industries that intended to collaborate with others. About 1,000 foreign and domestic companies gathered in this rather large area to buy or sell. This exhibition was held in three pavilions each named Premium (white), Collaboration (blue), and Win-Win (red).

KOTRA commented on this phenomenon, "As you know, South and North Korea recently had tensions due to the Yeonpyoung-do attack. But it feels like that has never happened as we have so many buyers here. We hope that this event could bring many profitable opportunities by introducing Korean products and communication links that suits buyers' needs."

For two days of events, 10 countries including the U.S and Germany will participate in the FTA-nation Pavilion and 30 global companies from Korea and elsewhere. It is a good start to global communication with Korea.

A buyer, Mark Gasser from Switzerland, stated, "We have been developing the new types of online software for three years and I think Korea is the first country that we could provide our solutions. That's the reason that brought me here. I have discussed with some of the Korean developers and distributors. It turned out that we absolutely could find the right partners for us today through the event."
