Siemens has secured an order from GS Electric Power and Services to supply gas turbines for the 400MW Bugok 3 natural gas-fired power plant in South Korea.
The combined-cycle power plant, which is expected to start operation in 2013, will attain an efficiency of above 60 percent and supply electricity to more than 300,000 people.
Under the contract, Siemens will supply a new-generation SGT6-8000H gas turbine, a SST6-5000HI-L steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator SGEN6-2000H, a BENSON HRSG as well as electrical equipment and the instrumentation & controls system SPPA-T3000.
The company will supply the Bugok 3 power plant as a turnkey project and has concluded a long-term maintenance agreement for the main components.
