Satisfaction Levels of Student Participants and the NGOs are Both High for Citi-Kyung Hee NGO Internship Program

The 5th Citi-Kyung Hee NGO Internship Program that was designed to help develop local communities and nurture future NGO leaders finally came to a end. Closing ceremony and evaluation session was held at the seminar room of Kyung Hee University main library.

On the survey conducted to the students and NGOs, 97% of the students had showed satisfaction on their activity outcome. Also, 95% showed high satisfaction on the program itself. On the questionnaire for NGO officers, they had evaluated positively of the work experience opportunity provided to the interns. As for the work attitude of the students, 97% NGO officials had answered too that the interns performances were good.

A total of 100 undergraduates and graduate school students aspiring to build their careers in local NGOs did their internships in one of 75 major NGOs in metropolitan cities across the country during Dec. 27, 2010 ~ Feb. 18, 2011 period. The program is organized by Graduate School of NGO Studies, Kyung Hee University (Dean Lee Dong-Soo) and sponsored by Citibank Korea (CEO Ha Yung-Ku) that donated 210 million won in sponsorship last December.

During the two months, the program advisors and staff members visited 75 NGO offices to meet with NGO officials and internship participants. As volunteering mentors, CKI employees also visited the Beautiful Foundation, Team & Team, and Korean Foundation For World Aid to encouraged internship students there.

An evaluation session was held after the closing ceremony to discuss the outcome of the program. "NGO Participation in Citi-Kyung Hee University NGO Internship Program with students and civic groups all satisfaction was very high, especially students with a positive perception of the NGO got a worthwhile thing to have pride tolerated the point that is worth" said Lee Dong-Soo, Dean of Graduate School of NGO Studies who managed this initiative.
