A New Dawn Begins for Chevrolet at the Seoul Motor Show 2011

Ankush Arora, vice president of GM Korea

It was a revolutionary pivot for GM Korea and an imperative decision taking the new brand Chevrolet in early this year. Chevrolet is one of the fastest-growing vehicle brands in the world with annual sales of about 4.25 million vehicles in more than 130 countries.

In order to celebrate its new start for the Chevrolet brand, GM Korea is greeting visitors at the Seoul Motor Show 2011 with a variety of historic vehicles, new products and cutting-edge technologies. While many visitors were enjoying the variety of car exhibits, IT Times met with Ankush Arora, the vice president of GM Korea. "GM Korea with the new brand name, Chevrolet is going to strengthen the GM brand in the Korean domestic market. And it will provide our customers in Korea with more choices than ever before," Mr. Arora expressed.

At an IT perspective, where does the company stand, Mr. Arora answered, "Chevrolet is a brand that is targeting younger customers who might be tech-savvy, and therefore to us digital marketing and getting connected to these customers digitally is very important. We want to make a mark with the Chevrolet brand digitally with our cutting-edge technologies."

He also said, "IT technologies are not only going to help Chevrolet to go green, but it will also help Chevrolet to express our message strongly with our global-wide connectivity." Chevrolet has been involved in many green activities such as, the green community club.

With advanced technologies, Mr. Arora forecasts the future of the automobile industry will be able to provide its drivers with fuel efficient, safe and reliable cars.

Lastly, he said, "I am very excited for the first show for Chevrolet in Korea. Hopefully, many visitors come to our booth to get to know Chevrolet well." Indeed, Chevrolet's booth at the Seoul Motor Show 2011 is drawing the attention of the visitors.
