Kim Young-hak, Vice Minister of Knowledge Economy, hosted an Export Strategy conference to discuss fundamental measures for strengthening competitiveness and enhancing the ability to manage the fluctuating exchange rate. This is to cope with a strong won after the economic crisis passes. In this meeting, Kim and attendants exchanged ideas about export measures with a strong won. They also talked about how the public and private sectors can cooperate systematically to overcome this difficult situation.
This conference was held on Thursday, May 14, in Seoul Palace Hotel. In attendance were the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses (Kbiz), Korea Export Insurance Corporation (KEIC), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and the Small & medium Business Corporation (SBC). There were also 12 participants from the electronic telecommunication, semiconductor, display, shipbuilding, automobile, machinery, petrochemistry, steel, textile, plant, and industrial technology fields.
