The Foreign Ministry is actively carrying out various promotional activities on and off-line to expand the working holiday program, a key part of its "Cultivation of 100,000 Global Youth Leaders" project. As part of the effort, the Foreign Ministry has agreed with the South Jeolla Province Office to co-host information sessions for the working holiday program in Mokpo National University and Suncheon National University on June 1 and 2 respectively.
In the sessions, the info center of the Foreign Ministry for the working holiday program (whic.kr) will give a general presentation on the introduction of the program to students of 23 universities in South Jeolla Province. And for the students interested in participating in the program, the info center will provide more detailed and tailored information, such as visa information, tips for living in the country, as well as job and safety information.
This is the first time that the Foreign Ministry has held an information session to promote the working holiday program in collaboration with a local government. The head of the Consular Services Division at the Foreign Ministry will be in person at the universities to raise awareness about the working holiday program and explain the need for student's active participation.
The Foreign Ministry will continue to strive to expand the working holiday program by holding information sessions at interested universities at any time called upon while maintaining its close cooperation with local governments and universities wishing to help students go abroad.
