Moon Ha-yeong, Ambassador for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs, will hold a consultation on the safety of their nationals in each other's country and international terrorism between Korea and Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on May 31. In the meeting the two sides will discuss outstanding consular affairs between the two countries as well as other issues related to international terrorism, including the recent developments in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
In a bid to enhance convenience for Korean companies operating in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Moon plans to request Uzbekistan to grant permissions for stable currency exchanges to Korean companies. In addition, he will consult with his Uzbek counterpart on the signing of a temporary labor agreement between the two sides to mitigate difficulties related to visa issuance of nationals and their stay in each other's country.
