In cooperation with consumers and the distribution industry, the Ministry of Environment holds '2011 Green Consumption Week' campaign under the theme, 'Green Day! Green Festival!' from June 3 to June 13.
Since 2009, the campaign has been annually held, aiming at spreading green consumption by providing the people with information on green products and encouraging them to participate in green consumption. This year, diverse events will be held at 734 stores. The participating 10 distributors provide various incentives such as free gifts, discount, green mileage and eco bags.
In addition, cultural events including contest exhibits on green consumption and environment and lectures on environment will be held. With a view to develop a bond of sympathy among the people, online events are held through the website and the blog of the ministry - writing a comment on video materials, uploading photos on green consumption and quiz event. The pan-national campaign by distributors and industries is expected to significantly contribute to raising a public awareness on green products and spreading green consumption.
