North Korea is threatening to release conversations recorded during secret talks with South Korea because it says Seoul is denying what really happened. North Korea said last week that South Korea begged for summits between the countries' leaders and offered "envelopes of cash" during last month's meeting in Beijing.
South Korea quickly said North Korea distorted the contents of the meeting. Seoul says it only pressed Pyongyang to apologize for two deadly attacks last year. An unidentified North Korean negotiator at the meeting said Thursday his country will disclose a recorded conversation if Seoul refuses to reveal what happened during the meeting. The warning was carried by the North's official Korean Central News Agency.
