IT Personnel Gathers for the Day

25th The Day of IT Personnel was held in order to praise all the hard work of industrial people.

Organized by the Information Technology Professional's Association of Korea (IPAK), the 25th Day of IT Personnel was held on June 25 at Eunhang Hall, Myund-dong, Korea with great fanfare. This high-profile event attracted field experts and renowned entrepreneurs as they committed to developing the IT industry in Korea.

Cho Sung-Kap, Chairman of IPAK, thanked people who were present by saying, "The reason why Korea could be an IT powerhouse is because of the effort and cooperation of all the people present today." He continued by saying, "Now we need to develop the software industry to become the next leader in the smart age."

The event drew many experts and representatives from the industry.

There was a prize-awarding ceremony for contributors. The Merit awards went to Lee Kark-bum, Chairman of the Presidential Council on Information Society and Lee Chu-yong, Chairman of KCC Information & Communication. They made important contributions that have played big roles in the development of the IT industry in Korea.

Lee Jong-keun, CEO of Etsoftning, also received a Gratitude Plaque for setting up a relationship between Indonesia and Korea for ICT cooperation. Many other people in the IT industry also got recognized their hard work by getting gratitude plaques: Keum Ki-hyun, former CEO of etnews; Lim Chaedeok, Team leader in ETRI; Hwang In-soo, Consultant of M&M Solutions; Kwon Oh-kyung, director of Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute; Lee Jang-hyun, director of Jangwee Research Institute for National Defence in Ajou University; Kim In-hyun, CEO of 2e Consulting; and Shin Young-tae, professor at Soongsil University.

It was impossible to miss out on a special appearance by distinguised guest Suryo B. Sulisto, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at this event. Chairman Sulisto said, "Enhancement of economic innovation is essential. I am very pleased to be here and I try to extend stronger economic relations with Korea." He was also awarded a gratitude plaque by IPAK for his contribution to the collaboration of both countries' development of IT.

As the night went, the mood for the day was heightened. The day for IT personnel was the place for sharing valuable information and making closer ties between academia, business, and research.
