On July 8, Minister Browne will meet with First Vice Foreign Minister Park Suk-hwan to discuss ways to bolster bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the situation on the Korean peninsula. Later in the day, he will hold a meeting with Minister for Trade Kim Jong-hoon regarding ways to promote economic cooperation, such as in trade and investment, between the two countries on the occasion of the effectuation of the Korea-EU FTA.
Also, Minister Browne will get together with young Korean diplomats for a brown bag lunch, during which the participants will exchange views on a wide range of global issues. The upcoming visit to Korea by Minister Browne is expected to serve as an opportunity to reaffirm the support of the traditional Korean ally UK for the Korean government's position on issues
related with the Korean peninsula and discuss ways to maximize economic benefits from the recently-effectuated Korea-EU FTA and enhance political and economic cooperation.
