GM Korea Company invited representatives from its dealerships nationwide to participate in today's Infinite Challenge Yes Chevrolet rally. The activity was organized to celebrate the successful introduction of the Chevrolet brand in Korea, strong sales results in the first half of the year and expected continued success for Chevrolet in the second half of 2011.

The rally at the Daejeon Convention Center drew 350 participants, including representatives from 300 dealerships nationwide and GM Korea executives led by Sung Ki-In, Director of Domestic Sales/Marketing.

"We have received a positive response to Chevrolet since its launch in March. Our domestic sales have continued to grow, enabling us to achieve double-digit market share last month," said Sung. "We are confident that we will maintain continued sales growth in the second half of the year due to our industry-leading services such as 3-5-7 Chevy Care, our newly remodeled Chevrolet sales and service network, and the arrival of new products such as the Chevrolet Malibu midsize sedan."

Following the rally and special seminars on dealership management, participants went on a hike at the nearby Gyejok Mountains and engaged in teamwork activities, including a group jump rope and infinite challenge obstacle course.

GM Korea sold 12,265 vehicles in the domestic market in March, the month of the brand's introduction, which represented an increase of 30 percent compared to 9,434 vehicles sold in March 2010. Domestic sales in the four months since Chevrolet's introduction (March-June) showed an increase of 26.7 percent compared to the same period last year. In June, the company sold 13,761 vehicles, giving it double-digit monthly domestic market share of 10 percent for the first time since September 2008.

GM Korea offers industry-leading customer service with extended warranties for all vehicles through 3-5-7 Chevy Care service, which includes three years of free maintenance (four engine oil/filter and air cleaner changes), a five-year/100,000-km warranty on major parts, and seven-year/24-hour emergency roadside assistance to buyers of any Chevrolet vehicle. The package is available until the end of the year.

In addition, GM Korea has been remodeling its dealerships nationwide with a differentiated concept corresponding to the brand image and customer value offered by Chevrolet. About 70 percent of GM Korea's 300 dealerships have already been remodeled. This has had a positive impact on their sales, as visits to dealerships have increased 20 percent.

GM Korea launched several new products in the first half of the year, including the Chevrolet Orlando, Aveo, Camaro, Captiva and Cruze 5. More competitive new models such as the Chevrolet Malibu and Alpheon e-Assist upper-midsize luxury sedan will arrive in the second half of the year, giving GM Korea a full lineup of products.
