An anti-virus vaccine development company, Hauri, said that Bagle 32nd variant, -Worm.Win32.Bagle. AF," has found at home since July 9 and cautioned domestic PC users against it. The new virus is spreading by e-mail, and as it has back-door function and offs the TCP, UDP 80 ports of infected computer, PC users may face information leakages and data damage. The Bagle variant worm that infects by e-mail has no title, and the worm-infected file attached in e-mails is stored in self-extracting zip files.

Just opening an e-mail does not infect the computer. But users should not execute zip files attached if they receive form mail consisting of sender (can be changed randomly by worm), title (worm-sending mail has no title.), text (new price or price) and attached file (stored in zip format and the title can be changed randomly.) The basic symptoms are similar to those of other Bagle variants, and the infected computer and supporting network system will operate at slower speeds due to mail overload. As for enterprises, in the worst case a mail server can be downed and there are risks of personal information leakage, data damage and forgeries and alterations.

Han Myung Kook, head of Hauri Virus Response Center, said that Internet worms, Trojan Horse, back-door and other hacking programs have been spread by e-mails and more PCs have been infected. As new worm variants will be created continuously, PC users should keep in mind that a single e-mail can introduce a fatal worm into the computer and entire network, he warned.
