Minnesota, USA -September 6, 2011 - Amazon describes its latest news as 'worldwide breaking news'; however, most people are probably surprised that it did not jump into the 'social' media before. This social network will feature a 'games group'. With Amazon's success in e-commerce and e-readers/e-books, it would be surprising if Amazon's next move will not be just as successful. Currently, Amazon is searching for those with talents that will help move social networking and gaming to the next level; perhaps it could be you who joins the team in Seattle if your focus is software development or a related area that is in demand at Amazon -check out LinkedIn to see the postings.

When Amazon finally launches its 'social gaming site', it will compete with the social leaders such as Facebook and Zynga -Facebook in its 'social' aspect and Zynga in the 'gaming'. In order to do so, Amazon will need to continue with its cutting edge initiatives such as the 'reviews' section it featured after launching and the 'save & send' feature which allows its Kindle users to share comments and opinions of books to social networking sites of Facebook and Twitter. Then of course cloud computing hits this list as well.

Amazon's review section and 'similar items other users bought' is possibly the most influential part of the 'buying process' for users; it is encouraging to see honest feedback on the products and sellers if it is not being shipped directly from Amazon. Yet, social interaction between customers could be even more influential than these tools. Amazon periodically e-mails its users with product information that may be in their interests based on previous purchases; however, it lacks the 'social' interaction that customers need.

No date was released as the expected launch date. We can expect that it will receive the amount of attention that Google+ had. Hopefully it does not experience the dramatic decrease in 'usage' though.
