An avid soccer player, you rush toward the opponent's goal, dribbling at full speed, when a defender tackles and knocks you down and breaks your leg. Now, on a stretcher, all you can imagine is the uncomfortable idea of wearing a cast on your leg - in the sizzling summer, the smell from the sweat, itchy and festering skin, a heavy and stiff leg to walk with.... Your pain begins to move from your leg to your head.

New plaster cast with remarkable ventilation and strength

Phil Cast, produced by Mika Medical, is an orthopedic fixing tape made of glass fiber or polyester fabrics and water hardening resins, which enables the tape to start hardening immediately after it is exposed to the air, as the moisture in the air becomes combined with the tape.

After wetting the bandage-like tape and wrapping it around the injured area, Phil Cast hardenes in 3-5 minutes, and after about 20 minutes, it becomes hard enough to support the weight.

The fabric of Phil Cast has outstanding elasticity that is over 30 percent higher than other similar products, and it is not only comfortable for the patients but also very smooth, which improves the finish of the cast after application.

The excellent penetration of X-rays allows doctors to make an accurate judgment of the patient's recovery and observe even minute fractures with clear pictures.

Despite being 20 times stronger than conventional plaster casts and over 20 percent stronger than polyester products, Phil Cast quickly lets out the moisture with great ventilation while keeping the cast light yet strong for a long time.

Easy to remove as well, this product certainly reduces the pain that fracture patients have to endure.

Good quality, experience, and know-how in research led the company to the top of medical equipment industry

Mika Medical began in 1990 as a supplier of various medical and surgical products, equipment, and tools for orthopedics. Based on long experience and research know-how, the company has been rapidly growing both externally and internally, exporting their own brands - Phil Cast and Phil Splint - to over 40 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia where the quality of their products have been widely recognized.

In 1998, 2005, and 2008, they were designated as a promising exporter among small and medium businesses, while in 1999, the company attained a CE mark, the European certification of quality.

Since 2000, Mika Medical has been steadily participating in a variety of international medical equipment exhibitions such as MEDICA in Dusseldorf, MedTrade in USA, and Hospitalar in Sao Paulo, to promote their products worldwide.

After obtaining ISO9001, FDA approval, and GOST from Russia in 2005, the company was selected as a major business in Technological Innovation Development Project (for development of instantaneous pressure jet power painless syringes) and the CEO, Lee Changhee, won the Prime Minister Prize on Trade Day. Last year, Mika Medical, selected as one of the Export 300 Businesses by Korea International Trade Association, renewed the website which includes a shopping mall.

MIKA Medical Co. has been awarded the KOTRA Seal of Excellence since 2010.
