Minnesota, USA -September 16, 2011 - If you are outgoing and desire to meet new friends, it is a difficult task in the regular, popular social networking sites. After all, sites such as Facebook connect you based on common friends. Yet, you may not have anything in common with these people except a mutual friend or two. Instead, it could be more beneficial to find friends based on interests or location; this is what the new site 'Bunchify' is seeking to do. What's the best part There is no additional registration; simply use your Facebook login and you're ready to go!

In a blog post Bunchify mentioned, "With so much socializing done online it's often quite difficult to meet new people and form real connections.  It can be awkward to talk to someone in real life, or add someone to your social network whom you've never actually met.  We don't have a solution for the first part (yet), but we're hoping Bunchify will at least solve the latter."

Bunchify connects you with others based on 30 interests that you've selected -which you enter the first time you visit the site. The Beta version still did not launch yet, but more people will get a chance to try this service in the near future. If you follow Bunchify on Twitter, you will likely get an invitation code at some point, so you can connect with others based on your interests. Sources say that it is optional for users to enter a zip code to connect with others based on location; this is particularly important for those who are concerned about privacy because they are not forced to release information.

Interestingly enough, you can increase your interaction with others that are your 'matches' if you choose to be 'cool' with them -it is similar in function to the 'like' button on Facebook except it allows people whom you do not know to write private messages to you or have a real-time chat. The term 'cool' is the most appropriate since you do not know these people yet but you can judge if it is 'cool' to connect with them further.  When you meet someone new through a friend, typically he or she will ask what you think of him or her and your response is likely to be 'cool' -perfect term for this form of 'friending'.

Bunchify seems to seek to be the 'Facebook' for strangers. Just like Facebook, it will have a type of News Feed where you will see posts from other people who match your interests or location. It is up to you to filter these results and connect with others who interest you the most. Perhaps this will lead to greater friendships that you have now.

Bunchify plans to expand its reach even further by adding the option to login by Twitter or Google+ account; undoubtedly doing this will help it capture the greatest audience possible. However, it is to be seen whether or not users will connect much with this service after initial connection. Indeed the world is small and Bunchify is helping to shrink it even more.

Another new network that seeks a different way to 'socialize' is Erly -it bases its connections on events rather than actual people. This is evidence that the 'social networking' world is evolving. When more information on these networks become available, it will be immediately released.
