Minnesota, USA -October 3, 2011 - If you are an Amazon Kindle Fan, undoubtedly you spend a lot of time on the forum; recently there has been a lot of 'heated' activity when it comes to the 3G model that is set to be released on November 21. Amazon inserted the words, "experimental web browsing is available via Wi-Fi," when describing capabilities, which concerned users; later Amazon apologized and further explained, "Our new Kindle Touch 3G enables you to connect to the Kindle Store, download books and periodicals, and access Wikipedia - all over 3G or Wi-Fi. Experimental web browsing (outside of Wikipedia) on Kindle Touch 3G is only available over Wi-Fi." Furthermore, Amazon clarified that it would not take away browsing capabilities to the last model. "Our Kindle Keyboard 3G [the last 3G model] will continue to offer experimental web browsing over 3G or Wi-Fi."

If Amazon is looking to gain fans, this is the wrong move; rumors are that consumers who have pre-ordered the new 3G model have cancelled their orders; after all, the Wi-Fi model is $50 cheaper. The price difference is also enraging Kindle users; some of them on the forum are asking Amazon if this price difference is a fee to shop at only its store. The change in service is bewildering to most; perhaps Amazon has a plan up its sleeve to calm the customer complaints or possibly solve the problem by allowing users of the new 3G model to have access to the full web.

If you have not ordered your new Kindle yet, you may question whether you want to order at all before any issues are resolved; like previous sales, we should predict that there will be a long waiting list. If you want to take the leap with hope, perhaps you could get the 3G model quicker than you could have imagined before. Although there is no certainty on what you can do when using 3G, maybe the time that it comes will make it worth it -after all, people are bound to start cancelling their pre-orders.

On a happier note, Amazon's CEO, Bezos, claims that the new models are designed to make reading an even better experience -less finger fatigue. Perhaps this is the one fact that will keep you from going back in time and buying the older 3G model instead; even though I love my Kindle Keyboard 3G, I cannot imagine that we would need to get the older version to have our needs met.

Stay tuned for updates.
