Unfortunately this can only happen for the newest models of the Kindle which have not yet shipped to its customers; however, do not fret yet since it is likely that Amazon will extend it to more customers if there is enough demand. You can take another route by trading in your Kindle and updating it to the newest keyboard-free/touch model. Although the pre-orders are reportedly high, you have some time to consider if you are willing to make the switch.

If you are interested in making this switch on your pre-ordered Kindle, it is easy; simply log in to your Amazon account and access your 'manage your devices' page. Then after that, click on 'unsubscribe' you Kindle. Automatically it should make the change and you should be prompted for the payment. From this point, it will be smooth sailing; no more ads getting in your way of reading or anything else. Sadly ads can sometimes ruin the reading experience; previously it was expected that they would not ever clutter the pages of books.

On another note, rumor is that the Kindle Fire is already a huge hit! Just as we could have predicted, it may not be as advanced as the iPad but it will be a huge competitor to Apple. The orders will be shipped on a first-come first-serve basis, so if you have any interest in it at all, pre-order now! Undoubtedly there will be a long waiting list and they are bound to have periods where the product is completely sold out.
