Intel's mobile-related products released at CES 2005
Meedio LLC, a leading developer of digital home software, announced their support for the recently announced DivX Connected Certification Program from DivXNetworks, Inc. Products and services in the DivX Connected Program enable consumers to easily access digital media from networked devices throughout the home. Applications formerly available only on PCs can now be enjoyed in the living room, including premium content services, personal information services and interactive gaming. Meedio is among the first application providers to announce support for the DivX Connected Certification Program, a comprehensive technology initiative that will bring together integrated circuit (IC) manufacturers, consumer electronics (CE) original equipment manufacturers, independent software vendors and online service providers to create interoperable products and services. Meedio provides consumers with a customizable interface to browse, manage, and access nearly any type of digital media or information using a remote control, touchscreen, or PDA. Its integrated media players, digital video recorder (DVR), photo slideshows, weather forecasts and many other features can be easily extended with additional plugins from the Meedio Developers Network. By supporting the DivX Connected Certification Program, Meedio will enable their users to extend their media experience from their PCs to a variety of low-cost DivX Certified Connected devices. "Meedio Essentials is an extremely customizable product for managing and accessing digital media libraries of video, music and photos. Their vibrant developer community is constantly adding innovative new capabilities to the product's extensible interface. Users will be able to project these capabilities throughout the house through the DivX Connected Program," said Paul Sarena, Product Manager, DivX Connected Program at DivXNetworks. "DivXNetworks is a leader in the digital media industry, and they have created an extremely compelling connected home strategy that will help make the long-awaited dream of convergence a reality," said Victor Koosh, CEO of Meedio. "We're excited to integrate DivX Connected technology into our product and we look forward to working with the DivXNetworks team to bring this great service to the global market." DivX Connected Certified products and services will carry a special DivX logo identifying their interoperability among software, devices and services from a variety of vendors to ensure consumers a seamless experience, whether listening to their digital music library or getting new movies from premium content providers. The first DivX Connected products are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2005. More information is available at: www.divxnetworks.com/connected.
