Since its establishment in 1987, SK Brazing has been specializing in r brazing technique and manufacturing brazing machines, becoming one of the most advanced companies in this technology in Korea.
The company is domestically supplying brazing products to around 300 businesses such as Hyundai, Kia, Samsu
ng, Daewoo, Halla, Winia, and LG; and exporting products overseas to about 40 countries, such as the US, India, China, Spain, Turkey and England etc..
They have also operate an annual 'brazing school' that teaches techniques to approximately 300 technicians and students from around the world. The company's president, Dr. Young-Sik Shin has published articles on brazing techniques such as "Flux Laminated Alloy Improves Air Atmosphere Brazing - An innovative new product proves to be a cost-effective means to eliminate the fluxing step and minimize the brazing cycle time" in the September 2006 Welding Journal.
With Dr. Shin's leadership in R&D, SK Brazing has developed various metal joining methods & equipment, securing patents from more than 20 countries. These achievements have helped SK Brazing to be recognized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the Republic of Korea, as a world class product .
After investing two hundred million Korean won over 5 years to develop its new brazing method, the company is expecting to achieve a new level of success. A plant using this new brazing method is going to be built in the US in 2011. Dr. Shin stated "We believe there will be new markets, worth over 180 billion Korean won, which use this new technology...we will continue to concentrate on the brazing market (a niche market) and develop in the world market."
