Quierschied, Germany, xaitment, the creators of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) software for video game and simulation developers, today announced that one of the largest and most successful game developers and publishers in Korea, NEOWIZ GAMES, has signed a new licensing agreement to use xaitment’s pathfinding and movement module, xaitMap, in the development of a new, undisclosed MMO title.

NEOWIZ GAMES is one of the largest game publishers and developers of games in Korea. The Company sells a range of online games through its successful gaming portal, Pmang. NEOWIZ GAMES is currently working on a new MMO, and has turned to xaitment and its AI software module xaitMap to simplify the process of creating artificial intelligence for the game’s expansive online world.

Unlike other pathfinding solutions on the market that just offer runtime libraries, xaitMap provides runtime libraries and graphical editors to ease the creation of detailed NavMeshes, intelligent pathfinding and realistic single character and crowd movement. xaitment’s AI software module integrates with the Havok Vision Engine, the game engine being used on this title. Together, these advantages will help NEOWIZ GAMES programmers and game designers to more easily collaborate in the creation of MMO-optimized NavMeshes and smarter, more realistic character movements.

“Many commercial products can be used to move game characters from point A to point B, but xaitMap provides runtime libraries and tools, making the process much more efficient,” said director of NEOWIZ GAMES, Lee, Jang-choel. “xaitMap is comprehensive, easy to use and already integrates into our existing engine. Coupled with the Company’s strong support, we’re extremely pleased to be working with xaitment.”

NEOWIZ GAMES is a proven leader in the MMO market, both within Korea and throughout Asia,” said Mike Walsh, CEO of xaitment. “They place great value on the quality and uniqueness of their titles. xaitMap will not only help them create detailed NavMeshes optimized for its new online game, it will help them quickly and easily achieve a level of realism in their character movements that no other AI software can provide.”
