Minnesota, USA –November 7, 2011 – Even though the first generation of the Amazon Fire still did not debut, rumors are circulating that we should expect a few more versions of the device that have slightly bigger displays –the 7-inch display model will be set to ship in the U.S. on November 15. The rumored sizes of the next displays are around 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch; this would put it in the range of all the other tablets in the market. There is no word about whether the capabilities or features would change, but we could possibly see all of these display sizes before the end of 2012. Amazon has not confirmed nor denied these expectations as being true.
The rest of the world may be rolling in anticipation since these rumors are circulating even before they cannot get their hands on one yet. Undoubtedly it will not take long for these to debut outside of the U.S. since companies such as LG are expected to produce the displays for Amazon –the demand for the mini-tablet is growing and Amazon released a statement that it would ramp up production in order to meet the demand. Other suspected companies to aid with the production are also South Korean companies; perhaps we could conclude that it will hit the Korean market soon.
In the meantime, customers who pre-ordered the first generation are eagerly waiting to receive this already popular device; hopefully Amazon is keeping up with demand so that no one needs to wait too long past November 15 before the device ships. As always, Korea IT Times, will give the dish on the device as soon as we get our hands on it; it was pre-ordered back in September so it should be one of the first shipments to be sent out.
Perhaps we will discover that the Fire is a good alternative to the iPad even if the price was not dramatically different; the services and options on the Kindle Fire may put it ahead of the iPad. But time can only tell. If you reside in the U.S., take the time to visit the Amazon Store and compare its offering to your needs; it could always make a good holiday present for yourself.
The Kindle is selling for $199; there’s a 7-inch display that is colored unlike the other Kindle e-reader models. Movies, TV shows, and other entertainment can be viewed on this device. In addition, there is gaming and internet browsing capabilities –there are your favorite apps (games and the like) as well as an e-mail app. The tablet contains a dual-core processor that provides ultra-fast web browsing and supports the need for speed in games.
