SEOUL, KOREA --- IPAK or IT Professional Association in Korea (www.ipak.or.kr) is throwing its '23rd Global Software Contest Awards Ceremony' on November the 24th at the international meeting hall, with some 120 participants including Mr. Kim Young-Hwan, Head of the Knowledge Economy Committee, Mr. Lee Kak-beom, Head of the Future Think Net, Mr. seok Ho-ik, former Vice President of KT, Mr. Yang Seung-taek, former Minister of Knowledge and Economy and the current Representative of the IST consortium, and Mr. Ryu Su-geun, director General for Electronic & IT Industries at the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, IPAK has announced that it has reached a MOU with MS Korea , the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), and IPAK to hold a ‘Global SW Contest’ and ‘Imagine Cup’ which aims to nurture SW talents in Korea.
The occasion aims to discover and award creative Software, yet to be distributed in the market, against SW distributors at home and abroad, general customers, and students to discover and nurture superior talents in SW. It is hosted per annum by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy, and is sponsored by NIPA and IPAK.
During the Global SW Contest, 145 have applied including 14 from 5 overseas companies and going through thorough the screening process, including a document test, a PT simulation and an overall PT screening.
The winners are as follows:
The President’s award went to ‘SK C&C NEXCORE Mobile Platform 4.0” from SK C&C (representative, Mr. Jung Chul-gil), the Prime Minister’s award went to ‘Pick’ by Samsung SDS (representative, Mr. Ko Soon-dong), and the General award for students went to ‘Cockfit’ by Mr. Oh Ji-heon from Good Neighbour Internal High School. Overall 34 superior products were chosen which included 7 with the Minister’s award of Knowledge and Economy, 14 with the bronze medal and the 2 with global award.
