Network based driving means a car is no longer just a means of transportation In transforming its image from a manufacturing-oriented hardware company to a customer service-oriented company, the Hyundai/Kia Motor Company's telematics service MOZEN' is expected to play a decisive role. The Hyundai Company looks on MOZEN as a means of maintaining real-time communication with its customers. In this manner, the company can continue to build solid CRM (customer relation management) says a Hyundai/Kia spokesman. This spokesman adds that Hyundai/Kia is aiming to expand its current market share in the domestic auto market through its 'MOZEN' telematics service and to further build its position as a leader in the global market. MOZEN', which has been offered since November 17, 2003, can be accessed after selecting a terminal when purchasing a Hyundai vehicle. It will not be installed on vehicles already delivered to the customer. 'MOZEN' service breaks down into the following 5 functions: "Mozen Safety," "Mozen Driving," "Mozen Life," "Mozen Secretary," and "Mozen Special." The MOZEN Safety service includes a theft prevention function, plus SOS and robbery alert services. Mozen Driving offers route guidance, traffic information, and a hazard alert service. In addition, Mozen Special provides users with an ARS, wireless Internet, membership homepage, and mobile phone services. Users can select from two types of MOZEN terminal, the 'MTS 200' and 'MTS 300' depending upon the type of automobile they are to be installed in. An executive of Hyundai/Kia Motor Company responsible for the service said MOZEN has been introduced in consideration of the current direction of technological developments as well as changes in the consumer's life style and vehicle needs. For this purpose, MOZEN represents the best in mobile multimedia technology, offering cutting-edge car management, state-of-the-art LBS (location-based service), and safety/rescue services. With a variety of functions such as route guidance, SOS, wireless Internet, and secretarial services, the MOZEN telematics service is opening an era of full-scale network-based driving, the executive stresses. In particular, MOZEN has maximized its convenience of use by enabling all functions to be handled via a touch screen through which AV functions such as TV, CD (MP3), radio and mobile phone are integrated perfectly. By securing a perfect integration interface with vehicles from the development/production stage, MOZEN is both elegant and reliable, and could be said to be a 24 hour per day, 365 day per year, all-weather driving partner, the spokesman said. He further explained that through MOZEN the driving experience has been expanded to cyberspace, pointing out that in the 'Ubiquitous' age a car is no longer just a means of getting from A to B.
