KTF
Leading the trend toward convergence in IT services
KTF, Korea's second-largest mobile operator, named its executive vice president Cho Young-chu as next chief executive to replace outgoing president, Nam Joong-soo.
Cho will lead KTF during the remainder of Nam's stint through to next March. The 49-year-old Cho, a former government bureaucrat, joined KT in 1982 and has taken key posts in KTF including that of head of the network division since 2003.
In an inauguration ceremony held on July 7, the fifth KTF president pointed out its customers are continuously expecting new services, typical of way in which Koreans are "early adopters" of new technologies and products. He added that the fusion of broadcasting, finance, automobile and household appliance technology is presenting the ITC industry with new challenges and opportunities.
He said that KTF must come up with new growth engine to realize sustainable growth and cope with complex relationships such as those with customers, shareholders, competing companies and regulatory institutions, plus the ongoing need for corporate responsibility.
The incoming KTF president summarized his management philosophy as to three priorities.
First, he emphasizes that he is dedicated to making KTF a top service provider to ensure its future. At the same time, he said KTF would proactively seek cooperation with other leading companies to advance the trend toward convergence in services.
Secondly, his second priority is creating an innovative KTF that is ambitious and seeks challenges.
The newly appointed president pledged to promote transparency in management that can underpin a dynamic and challenging corporate culture.
Thirdly, the new KTF CEO underscores that KTF will strive toward openness, thus exceeding shareholder expectations by strengthening both the transparency of, and their participation in management.
