2mm-thick tiny gadget that provides convenience for work and play

Smartphones are great in that they feature touch screens along with other tiny gadgets. But, many people prefer the use of a Mobile Trackpad (MTP) feature for easier control of gaming, access of documents, etc. In fact, MTP is Barack Obama’s favorite feature of his Blackberry. The MTP works like a mouse-style precision controller. The MTP is a device that supports– better movement with a smooth and amazingly sensitive pad. It feels much better than a ball and fits in perfectly with the 4 buttons around it. It is also easy to use and never gets stuck.

When you use RIM’s Blackberry, you will see a CrucialTec’s MTP in the center. CrucialTec may not be a familiar name to you but it is one of the most advanced input device developer and provider of the MTP market. They developed the world’s first Nano-Optical Trackpads (OTPs). These Trackpads held more than 200 patents and started producing Samsung’s finger mouse in 2007 and has been doing brisk business with global heavyweights such as Rim, Intel, Panasonic, Nokia, Samsung and LG.

CrucialTec’s MTPs support smooth scrolling, lateral and 360-degree movement, trigger movement and 4-way directional scrolling. On top of that, MTP has differentiated itself with its high interoperability and general-purpose applicability: the OTP fits well into all kinds of display devices, ranging from smartphones and feature phones to table PCs, netbooks and even IPTVs.

BlackBerry 9900 MTP

“When you see BlackBerry 9900, there is a MTP in the center. On the top of Galaxytab 10.1, you will notice a Mobile Flash Module (MFM). When you use the LG U+TV Remote Controller, you can see an Aeromouse. Whether you notice it or not, our MTPs are “providing technology to make your personal and professional life more convenient,” said Charles Ahn, CEO of CrucialTec.

Accumulated sales of OTPs stood at USD 300 million, a figure that is low in comparison with the worldwide sales of 1.2 billion units last year. In other words, the global mobile phone market alone still has a lot of room for further growth. That’s why CrucialTec is processing many projects with the goal of developing relevant software applications, enabling playing games and making presentations by using OTPs, and selling them at App stores.

Thanks to nanotechnology, CrucialTec is armed with its MTP that is less than 2mm-thick and has a business strategy to turn one-off transactions into long lasting relationships by continuously offering useful solutions to customers. In addition, the company is poised to boost the number of MTP smartphones in the global market.

Crucialtec has been selected as the KOTRA Seal of Excellence since 2009.
