World Form

For repairing window frames or filling the connection between insulation panels, all Korean companies formerly imported polyurethane form from European companies until the mid-1990s since no Korean company had the appropriate technology to produce them. “We were confident of developing polyurethane form because the company had many years of experience in producing aerosol products since early 2000,” said the CEO of Hamil Selena. After persistent efforts, the company succeeded in developing them in 1996. The rise of won-dollar exchange rates during Asian Financial Crisis was an opportunity for the company because most Korean companies did not want to unnecessarily pay extra funds to import the products. The company began to dominate the Korean market and now owns 45% of the market share.

‘World-Form’

‘World-Form’ was developed by Hamil Selena and is the polyurethane foam that can be applied to various places including openings around window/door frames, and panel connection areas in apartments, houses and large buildings. It fills holes, vacant spaces and cracks insuring quality insulation in terms of water proofing, sound insulation, shock absorption, and heat insulation. With 95% of the foam made of independent minute foams, it is stable and flexible. It also adheres to any materials such as concretes and metal panels.

‘TYTAN65’

Hamil Selena also developed “TYTAN65”, a slow burning product which can produce foam of maximum 65L per 1 can in the most optimum condition. It is fire-retardant and meets the DIN4102 Fire Class B2 Standard. With this product, the company has captured the largest share of the Korean urethane foam market, and has exported them to overseas market including Japan, Russia and India.

The other product the company introduces is a foam gun which is ergonomically designed and easy to use. With the locking screw, the discharge volume is easy to control. Because it has a tapered nozzle, areas including ceilings, narrow grooves or holes which are hard to reach can be filled with ease. Equipped with a locking screw that is easy to control, the volume of foam can be easily controlled with less waste.

In 1991, the company started with the name of Hamil until Selena Group, one of the three largest manufacturers of polyurethane foam in the world, sought an Asian partner and gave them an investment proposal in 2001. Since then, they have maintained the name Hamil Selena and expanded its business into the overseas market. “In the beginning, we had only price competitiveness compared to European companies in the global market but now we are a company with USD 9 million total sales and a 14 year history. Our goal is to attract more global clients with technological competitiveness.” For more information, you can visit http://www.worldfoam.com/kor/kor_index.php
