The first time the founder of DHP Engineering learned about Plate Heat Exchangers was when he worked for a company producing seasonings. He saw that Japanese companies improved productivity of sterilizers of crude liquid by applying European Plate Heat Exchangers. He wanted to apply them to all the production lines of the company but it was too expensive. After a year’s worth of efforts, he succeeded in developing Plate Heat Exchangers for the first time in 1978. Since then, the company has focused on technology development and received many awards from various ministries and even from the President in the past decade. With its technology and quality, DHP Engineering was designated as a subcontractor for GE in 2002. They also began to supply its own oil coolers to Hyundai Heavy Industries, the world’s largest shipbuilding company.

“Plate Heat Exchangers may sound too technical at first but the principle is simple. By installing the system in a ship, we can lower energy consumption. When water around the engine becomes hot, it can be used for various purposes, such as showering. The system is not only limited to shipbuilding. It can also be used for power plants and other factories,” the company said.

There are many advantages by using plate heat exchangers over Shell & Tube type heat exchangers. The corrugation in the plates increases the liquid turbulence to a low Reynolds number. and the liquids flow is counter flow so that the heat transfer efficiency is 3-5 times higher than Shell & Tube type heat exchangers. DHP Plate Heat Exchangers help save costs with high efficiency, low investment, compact installation and simple maintenance. They provide high rates of heat transfer due to the turbulence inducing shape of the plates. The special gasket configuration of the plates prevents any mixing of the chemicals being processed. In the port area, both fluids are separated by double gaskets. Additional safety is ensured by the leakage gap.

Another product the company presents is the vacuum evaporating distiller. It is based on the DHP’s titanium plate heat exchanger. One is for evaporating the heated brine and the other is for condensing the water vapor. The vacuum chamber is kept by the seawater drive from the condenser combination ejector. Heated seawater is used as feed water for evaporating and the temperature is controlled by the vacuum pressure.

DHP Engineering has the complete in-house quality assurance system through the strict quality inspection using the latest inspection system along with the independent quality control system. The company received quality system certifications of ISO 9001 and ISO 140001. With its technical competitiveness, the company attracted many large companies including Samsung Heavy Industries, STX Shipbuilding, China Ship Building Corporation, POSCO, and Petro Karan Shafagh Kish. Its goal is to serve more global clients by advancing its technologies and improving the process. For more information, you can visit http://www.dhpeng.com/
