SEOUL, KOREA- Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Rafik Abdessalem traveled to South Korea today, on two-day diplomatic visit. Upon his arrival, Abdessalem was welcomed by his South Korean counterpart Kim Sung-Hwan.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sung-Hwan praised the noteworthy progress Tunisians have achieved since the Tunisian Revolution. In response, Abdessalem thanked South Korea for their support for the democratic ambitions of the Tunisian people.
Both Abdessalem and Sung Hwan expressed their satisfaction regarding state of technical cooperation between their respective nations and their desire to further develop bilateral relations.
Abdessalem also met with the Korean Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Kwahak Kisulbu, in order to discuss cooperation in the field of education and the development of student exchange programs.
Tunisia’s foreign affairs minister kicked-off his tour through Asia with a visit to China on April 16th. During his visit Abdessalam met with Yang Jie Chi, the Chinese minister of foreign affairs, in Beijing.
