Ideal Venue for Exhibiting Aerospace Since the Seoul International Air Show was held for the first time in 1996, this event has come to be recognized as one of the world's premier aerospace and defense technology events. It is the only event of its kind offering companies and individuals with business interests in the region key opportunities to play a major role in one of the world's fastest growing aerospace and defense markets: Korea. Starting with the first show 10 years ago, Korea has attracted major aerospace and defense companies from all over the world, such as British aerospace and Lockheed Martin, participating with their up-to-date technologies and business plans for one-on-one contacts. The show is an ideal venue for exhibiting aerospace, ground and naval systems, as well as various types of heavy weapons, and is growing to be the best marketplace for aerospace industries around the world and over Asia. In 2003, there were 184 exhibitors and more than 11,000 qualified executives from 20 countries that participated in the show, underlining the event's importance and its position as an emerging market leader. In 2005, it is expected that 300 exhibitors from 30 countries will participate in the show. Attendees and visitors to the Seoul Air Show will include government officials, senior company managers, and high-level executives involved in the aerospace and defense markets in Korea and the rest of the region. It is an important event for exchanging information on new technologies and marketing in the aerospace and defense industries plays an active role. For successful marketing among the participants, the organizers are planning to invite the highest ranking triservice delegations of military policy and decision-makers globally. This year's event will have the most delegations ever, with up to 80 delegates from 40 countries invited, including potential buyers, forming a business-wise exhibition for all exhibitors and participants. Also, by bringing together some of the world's leading aerospace and defense companies with small and mid-sized companies from Korea and all over the world, this year's show promises to be a great success. The Seoul Air Show Organizing Office is also considering holding a live demonstration period for ground equipment in a separately designated location with official delegations invited. Seoul International Air Show 2005 is also fully supported by the government of Republic of Korea Meanwhile, Korea is rapidly expanding its aerospace and defense industry market in cooperation with the world's most prominent companies. In particular, Korea's new supersonic jet trainer, the T- 50 (Golden Eagle) produced by KAI has demonstrated its advanced technology to the world aviation industry. The organizer Korea Aerospace Industry Association (KAI) said T-50 aims to take one-fourth of the world's jet trainer market in the future. To promote Korean technology in the military sector, the KAI will launch a 'triservice' show during the event, which will display the nation's state-of-the-art technology in land, air and navy forces. About 40 military dignitaries, including defense ministers, Air Force chiefs of staff, the chiefs of naval operations, Army chiefs of staff from 22 countries (the United States, Russia, Canada, France, Israel, Spain and others) are expected to attend the event. Weapons, ammunition and explosives, military vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft, satellite and aerospace systems will be displayed for potential buyers In addition, Weapon Systems Seminars will be held in a seminar room at Seoul Air Show 2005 site along with the UVS International seminar The 14th International Aerospace Symposium will be held under the title, 'Aerospace Industry Promotion and International Cooperation,' on October 17th, 2005, at the Seoul Grand Intercontinental Hotel. Also, the 'Aerospace Weapon System Development Seminar' is planned to be held for the date of October 19th, which would serve as the basis for strengthening Korea's ambition to develop an advanced and elite Air Force of the new millennium. With the participation of many distinguished figures from home and abroad, this seminar will indicate the future course of development of the ROK Air Force and the aerospace industry. Furthermore, not only research papers from theoretical and technical perspectives but also the application of aerospace technologies will be introduced, which will greatly contribute to the development of the ROK Air Force and aerospace industry in Korea. 'The 2nd UVS International Seminar' is scheduled to be held at Korea Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (Seoul Air Show 2005) in Seoul Airport, on October 21, 2005. UVS indicates all of Unmanned Vehicle Systems that operates in aerospace, ground and maritime such as UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle), and UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle). As we all know, the UVS Industry is showing rapid growth all over the world. The UVS market is the munitions and civilian field is set to enlarge at an astounding pace. The Korean government and military as well as research institutes and corporations are making every effort to support the development of UVS industries. For the world's aerospace and defense industries to develop and exchange information and technologies, the Seoul International Air Show 2005 offers opportunities for a wide range of aerospace and defense exhibitions, not only for the professionals in the industry, but also for members of the public and their families to enjoy the fascinating exhibits and air displays.
