Kyung-In Precision Machinery builds large-scale customized reducers for high-precision needs. The company has been producing OEM products since its establishment in 1986. They supply steel machinery, harbor facilities and running gear to Doosan Heavy Industry, Hyundai Steel, and POSCO. Since 1995, the company has been exporting customized reducers for steel machinery for US and German oil and ship manufacturing companies as well as Mitsubishi in Japan. Beginning with elevator worm gear development, Kyung-In has continued to successfully develop ship-engine running gears. The company gained its fame as a professional gear producer when it succeeded in domestically producing industrial reducers and gears, which Korea previously had to import from Japan. Kyung-In’s next challenge was the development of a railroad switch. KTX rail switch‘MJ81’, which was co-developed with Korea Railroad Research Institute. Once again, Kyung-In successfully produced the switch in 3 years with the technology transfer from Alstom, a French company. This switch was installed on the railroad between Iksan and Yeosu over the course of September 2010 to August 2011. They are the only company in Korea to have manufactured technology for high-speed train switches and its test facilities.
